Sydney FC’s pre-Christmas clinic at Cranbrook Junior School this week was a great way to start the Summer holiday period, with 70 eager boys and girls attending the clinic over all three days.
Sydney FC’s Community Football Manager Paul Reid was ecstatic with how the coaches helped the kids develop their skills throughout the clinic, as well as making it a fun and enjoyable experience.
“The Cranbrook clinic was a huge success. All kids enjoy playing games but you could also see the boys and girls having a great time working on their individual skills,” Reid said.
“Over the 3 days, the kids become more confident in their own ability and even though many of them are new to the clinics, it is always refreshing to see the friendships which start developing amongst the groups.
“It’s all about the kids having fun playing football and this will hopefully lead them to being a supporter of Sydney FC,” he continued.
“The players are role models for the young footballers and that is why it is important for Sydney FC A-League players to meet the kids at every clinic. Alex Brosque, Matthew Jurman and Zac Anderson attended the clinic on the first day and the kids were still talking on the last day about getting photos and their shirt signed by the players earlier in the week.”
Not only did the kids get to meet three Hyundai A-League players, they also received training from young up and coming Sydney FC Westfield W-League and Young Matildas star Sunny Franco who took the 5-6 year old age group for two days.
