Sydney FC have landed one of the most exciting young strikers in the country, signing 17-year-old Skye Halmarick ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 season.
The prolific NWS Spirit FC forward has been in red-hot form in the NSW National Premier League Women’s competition, scoring 19 goals in 19 matches, including two hat-tricks and four braces.
She has also been called into the Young Matildas squad for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers which will be held in Tajikistan next month along with current Sydney FC players Maddie Caspers, Milly Cassar, Sofia Fante, Amber Luchtmeijer, Rubi Sullivan & Caley Tallon-Henniker.
A local product, Halmarick now joins the club she grew up supporting and says she’s thrilled to be stepping into the professional environment in Sky Blue.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to be signing with Sydney FC – they’re my local club and a team I’ve always looked up to,” Halmarick said.
“To be part of this squad and represent a club I’ve supported for so long is really special.
“I’m excited to keep learning, grow my game and test myself at A-League level. Of course, scoring goals would be a dream, but my focus is on improving and contributing however I can.”
Sydney FC Head Coach Ante Juric said Halmarick’s form and qualities made her an ideal addition to the squad.
“Skye has had an outstanding NPL season and shown she’s a natural goalscorer with pace and strong instincts in front of goal,” Juric said.

“She’s composed, quick, and has a real hunger to keep improving – all the things we look for in a young striker.
“We believe she has the potential to make a real impact and we’re looking forward to helping her transition into the A-League and develop into a top professional.”
Joining Halmarick in the Sky Blues squad are three young talents promoted from Sydney FC’s Female Development Squad – Sofia Fante, Claire Corbett and Willa Pearson – who have all signed one-year contracts.

Fante (16), Corbett (15) and Pearson (14) have impressed throughout the club’s elite youth setup. All three players have progressed well and were all involved as train ons last season, gaining valuable experience.

“Sofia, Claire and Willa have all had a year training with the first team last season as train ons. In that period, they have developed well and have earned their opportunity of a contract through consistent hard work, dedication and obvious quality on the park,” Juric said.
“This is a fantastic chance for them to continue their development and show what they can do, all whilst looking to push for game time and a starting position in the team, regardless of their youthful age.”

The signings highlight Sydney FC’s ongoing commitment to developing and promoting the next generation of Australian female footballers.
