Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Adam Santo gives an update on our Centre Of Excellence – Sky Park – which will provide the foundation for the Sky Blues future growth.
Question: How is the construction progressing?
Answer: “The building is very much out of the ground, you can see the two storey façade taking shape.
“Work on the roof has started and should be finished by the end of the month, then in January you are going to see the windows go in and we are hoping to be able to open the facility by mid-2023.
“It’s quite a spectacular design and you can see it all coming together now.
“The white trusses will be a unique feature of the building and construction is progressing very well.”
Q: How exciting is it for the club to be in this position?
A: “It’s really going to be game changing for Sydney FC to have facilities which are more befitting of a professional football club.
“It’s exciting that our entire club will be housed under the one roof for the first time. Our male and female players will have the same standard of facilities and we look forward to welcoming community groups and our members into Sky Park when it opens.”
Q: How could Sky Park help Sydney FC produce stars for our club but for the Socceroos as well.
A: “It’s an incredible achievement for the Socceroos to have reached the round of 16.
“If you compare our current premise to those where the Argentine, Danish and French players train, we are so far behind but when our new Sky Park is completed we will be comparable to them.
“If we are to attract the calibre of player we aspire to then having Sky Park is imperative in achieving that objective.”
