Sydney FC 0 def. by Macarthur FC 1 (Lachlan Rose 17’)
A solitary first half goal from Bulls striker Lachlan Rose was enough to defeat Sydney FC in the third game in seven days for the Sky Blues.
Moments That Mattered:
ROSE GOAL – 17’ – Davila gets into the box on the right and pulls the ball back to Da Silva who squares it to Rose for the easiest of finishes.
LE FONDRE CHANCE – 60’ – Caceres crosses from the right to Le Fondre who narrowly heads wide.
WOOD SHOT SAVED – 65’ – Pat Wood turns and drills the ball towards goal on an angle but it’s well saved by the keeper.
WOOD CHANCE WIDE – 67’ – Great build up down the right between Grant and Kamsoba allows Grant to find Wood who chests the ball down but can only fire into the side netting.
What They Said: Steve Corica: “It was a much better second half, we pinned them in a bit more, created a lot more chances.
“Two A-League games and we haven’t scored yet, that’s the disappointing bit.
“We had a lot of ball and a lot of dominance but no goals.
“We get a couple of boys back next week who are going to help us.”
Sydney FC have gone down to Macarthur FC in a tight game at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
The Sky Blues controlled the majority of the possession but couldn’t break down a strong Macarthur back five.
Lachlan Rose hit the only goal of the game on the break after work from Davila and Da Silva to set him up.
The Sky Blues had good chances in the second half through Wood and Le Fondre but weren’t able to find the net.
They will re-group and look forward to facing Newcastle Jets in a double header at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium next Saturday.
