With the Sky Blues sitting in fifth place with four games to go Sydney FC centre half Sasa Ognenovski believes the key to holding the Reds and clinching the points tonight lies in containing Adelaide-s forward momentum.
The Reds attack with a mobile and pacey front four and Ognenovski, who joined Sydney FC last month, believes that if the Sky Blues can contain this threat and hold their positions then the three points will return to the Harbour City.
“Containing their front four is the biggest challenge,” said Ognenovksi.
“We just have to stay compact and stay in our positions. Their mobility can drag us out of positions so they-ll run around and try and get around you.
“I think the main thing for us is to keep our shape the back four and the two in front of us and I think that will go a long way to getting us the three points.”
The Sky Blues have lost just once in their last five matches with Ognenovski in the back four, and the Socceroos stalwart says he won-t be focussing on any one individual from the Reds as he called for concentration from the entire defensive line.
“You can-t really focus on anyone because if you do then the other couple will come in and hurt you,” said Ognenovski.
“It-s got to be pretty much across the board, their front attacking four are pretty good so we have to concentrate on all of them.”
