Sydney FC have confirmed centre-half Ryan McGowan has tested positive for Covid-19 and will remain in Scotland self-isolating until he recovers.
Sydney FC have confirmed centre-half Ryan McGowan has tested positive for Covid-19 and will remain in Scotland self-isolating until he recovers.
McGowan has been in the UK since Sydney FC’s A-League Grand Final win in August and was due to meet the squad in Qatar next week for the resumption of the club’s AFC Champions League campaign.

McGowan will undergo further testing in the UK to assess his ability to travel to Qatar at a later date.
The defender is in contact with the Sky Blues medical staff who are providing daily advice and working closely with the Grand Final winning Socceroo to ensure he makes a full recovery.
All of Sydney FC’s Australian based travelling squad and staff were tested for Covid-19 this week and have all returned negative test results to allow them to travel.
They will also be tested on arrival in Qatar.
Sydney FC resume their AFC Champions League campaign on Thursday 19 November against Shanghai SIPG at Khalifa International Stadium, Qatar (kick off 9pm AEDT).
