Sydney FC’s Robert Mak has been named in the Slovakian squad for their upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 Qualifiers.
This call up comes off the back of some great performances with Sydney FC during the Australia Cup including last night’s match against APIA Leichhardt where Mak was involved heavily, looked to create many chances for team-mates and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet himself, drawing a great save from the keeper.
The Slovakians are in Group J this campaign and have played four matches so far, winning three and drawing the other. This window, they will be hosting leaders Portugal and current bottom side Leichtenstein.
Robert Mak has impressed during the previous matches and netted in a 2-0 win against Bosnia and Herzegovina back in March which catapulted his form into his Sky Blue minutes, returning with a stoppage time equaliser against Western United in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
Should the Slovakians overcome the Portugese in the top of the table clash, they will be well on the way to securing a place at European International Football’s showpiece event.
