Sydney FC utility man Rhyan Grant says he-s looking forward to his first experience of playing against former Premier League frontman Emile Heskey in this weekend-s clash with the Newcastle Jets at Hunter Stadium.

The former Young Socceroo missed out the last time the two sides met in Alessandro Del Piero-s home debut in October.

“It will be a great experience, I didn-t get the chance to play against him in the first game we played them so it-s going to be good for me, but we are just concentrating on the whole team and what we can do to win.

“Obviously we-ve got a pretty tough schedule coming up with a few games over Christmas but that-s football in Australia and it-s very enjoyable.”

The Jets have picked up just one point in their last five games but Grant isn-t expecting any Christmas gifts from the Novocastrians.

“It-s very important and the boys are up for it. We-re not going to take them lightly. The more they lose, the closer they are to winning and we don-t want to be that team that they beat.”

Sydney FC’s next home game should be a Christmas Cracker. Another derby against local rivals Central Coast Mariners over the holiday period on December 27th. Get your tickets now from Ticketek and enjoy some sizzling A-League Summer Football!!!
