Sydney FC-s Westfield W-League striker Sam Kerr has vowed to keep the records tumbling after the Sky Blue Ladies four nil victory over Brisbane Roar on Sunday at Sydney United Sports Centre.

The Sky Blue Ladies won courtesy of goals from Emma Kete, Leena Khamis and a brace from Jodie Taylor, to inflict a record loss on the Roar that propels Sydney FC into first place and maintains their unbeaten record thus far this season.

“To win four nil against anyone is awesome, but to do it against Brisbane is massive,” Kerr said.

“I think as team we played really well, it was probably one of our best performances and all round a great team effort.

“If we play like we did on the weekend there is no reason that we can-t break more records.”
Sydney FC have scored 25 goals in their past seven matches to continue the defence of their league title, however Kerr is not fussed by the teams unbeaten run and was always quietly confident the girls could perform the way that they have.

“It-s obviously a plus [the unbeaten record] but we haven-t really thought about it,” Kerr said.

“It-s nice not to have lost one yet but we-re just taking each week as it is.

“I wouldn-t have said it was impossible [scoring 30 in 8 games as a team] looking at our midfield and our strikers and defence for that matter, we have a lot of power up there, but it was a good surprise.”

The girls take on Adelaide United this Friday at The Shores (kick off 8pm local time) and Kerr believes that Adelaide will be a tough opposition for a team she rates as one of the best she-s played in.

“Adelaide have been a bit of a dark horse this year,” Kerr said.

“They definitely won-t be taken lightly. They beat Canberra and some of the big teams so we-ll go in like any other game but we have to watch them.

“We have such a good team though, all throughout. There is no real weakness because we feel like we have a lot of depth.

“It-s definitely up there for me as one of the best.”
