Sydney FC Women have become the first club in history to record eight consecutive clean sheets after defeating Brisbane Roar 2-0 at Leichhardt Oval.

The win takes Sydney FC seven points clear at the top with a game in hand.

ROJAS GOAL- 7’ – A great ball comes in from Rule on the right which hangs high and Rojas volleys home.

RULE GOAL – 48’ – Corner is sent over and not cleared but flicked back in and Rule finishes it.

HAFFENDEN SENT OFF – 59’ – Brought down Rojas who was clean through.

Sydney FC have moved well ahead of the rest of the chasing Liberty A-League pack after a comfortable 2-0 win over long-time rivals Brisbane Roar.

The Sky Blues players recorded two goals and an eighth consecutive clean sheet thanks to strikes from Maria Rojas and Charlie Rule, on top of exceptional performances from Captain Natalie Tobin, Ally Green, Charlotte McLean and Rule at right back.

What They Said: Star Midfielder Rachel Lowe:- “We are happy to get the win tonight, they were a really good side in the first half so we got a rude shock. 

“Being on top of the table it’s really important for us to keep our head down and not get too complacent and keep pushing the gap between us and second place.”
