Prezzee give the gift of Powerchair

Sydney FC Foundation’s second iteration of its Community Powerchair Football Program took place during the October school holiday period, thanks to the support of Sydney FC Foundation Dinner 2022 Platinum Sponsor, Prezzee.

Eight young people travelled to Five Dock Leisure Centre for the two day clinic where they were put through their paces by Sydney FC Powerchair Head Coach, Jason Ryan.

Participants were also treated to appearances from Sydney FC Isuzu Ute A-League players, Jayden Kurcharski and Corey Hollman. Both players participated in the first afternoon’s activities, thrown in at the deep end having to play against the already well-drilled participants.

Kurcharski and Hollman then spent quality time with each participant, chatting to them about their experience and signing their new Sydney FC kits.

Sydney FC Foundation Chair, Jenny Abood attended the second day.

“What an amazing privilege it is to come to our second powerchair football clinic and see the amazing smiles and the awe of these children that have been able to participate thanks to our wonderful partners, Prezzee,” she said.

“Words cannot describe the feeling of seeing the smiles on their faces and on their families faces as they get to experience the sport for the first time.

“That is what tells us that we are having a real impact and helping to grow this wonderful community of powerchair football,” she added

Levi, aged 6, one of our participants was delighted to see the players. “It was great to play with the Sydney FC players.

“My favourite thing about powerchair football is that I have lots of fun with my friends,” he added.

Codey, aged 9, said “it is really fun to go fast in my chair and feel the wind through my hair. It is great to make new friends through powerchair.”

Sydney FC and A-League legend, Alex Brosque also got into a chair and took part in day 2’s activities. This also included joining Prezzee CEO, Jamie Samaha, for the presentation to our participants at the end of the day.

After attending day two of the clinic, Prezzee CEO, Jamie Samaha said, “Our mission is to share the ‘gift of magic’, and it was incredible to share the gift of football with a group of inspirational young people and their families.”

Prezzee’s proud support of our Community Powerchair Program follows their sponsorship of our Sydney FC Foundation Dinner 2022.
