Pre-game bonanza to welcome in GF replay

Get to the SFS early on Saturday night to take in the bumper pre-game entertainment which features a performance from rocker Hayley Warner at 7:30pm.

Hyundai A-League Champions Sydney FC will kick off their 2010/11 season in style with an entertaining pre-game showcase followed by the much anticipated Grand Final replay against rivals Melbourne Victory at the Sydney Football Stadium on Saturday night (8pm kick-off).

Fans are urged to get to the SFS some 45 minutes before kick-off to take in the feast of entertainment that will include fireworks, huge Sydney FC banners and a performance from Australian singer-songwriter and 2009 Australian Idol runner-up Hayley Warner who-s debut single ‘Good Day- peaked at #11 on the ARIA Charts.

Warner will perform two songs from approximately 7:25pm.

And a highlight of the pre-game festivities will be the parade of the former Socceroos players and coaches which were given a membership to Sydney FC by the club as recognition of their contribution to the game of football in Australia.

The list of former greats participating in the parade includes Steve Corica, Jim Fraser, Peter Fuzes, Stan Ackerley, Bob Bignell, Alan Garside, Kimon Taliadoros and Charlie Stewart.

There will also be a host of precinct activities as fans enter the SFS.

Sydney FC CEO Edwin Lugt encouraged fans to get to the SFS as early as possible to be part of the pre game bonanza before supporting the Sky Blues as they start the defence of their Hyundai A-League title.

“The night will be a great event,” he said. “The pre-game celebrations will enhance the match day experience for our fans which is extremely important to us and of course for the players too.”

“We enjoy a great relationship with our fans and we take much enjoyment out of making their experience on game days as special as possible.

“The rivalry we have with Melbourne Victory is the biggest in the A-League. The atmosphere created by our supporters inside the stadium is completely unique to our game and we want all football lovers in Sydney to experience it.”
