O’Neill Ready For Sky Blue Show On Sunday

O’Neill Ready For Sky Blue Show On Sunday

Sydney FC midfield stalwart Brandon O’Neill said he’s raring to go in the Sky Blues first home clash of Season 2019/20 on Sunday.

Taking part in his fifth season with the club, O’Neill credited the Sky Blues’ supporters in aiding the players to victory with The Cove in particular producing a special atmosphere that’s enjoyed by all.

“Home games are the best,” O’Neill said.

“There’s nothing like running out knowing you’ve got the fans on your side. We’re very lucky here at Sydney FC that they come in numbers and are so loud.

“I know it [the support] helps the players a lot.

“What more can you say about The Cove,” he continued.

“They [The Cove] are simply the best. It’s why we go to them as players after each and every game and say thank you for their contribution. Without them, us as players couldn’t do what we do every week.

“We need their support as it’s vital.”

Reflecting on Sydney FC’s Round 1 win in Adelaide, O’Neill said there’s plenty more excitement in store, as he vowed to provide the fans with something to cheer about throughout Season 2019/20.

“The fans can expect performances this year that really excite them,” he said.

“Each of the lads will give their best efforts each and every week, both in defence and attack we will prepare as best we can.

“If we do that, I know come the end of the season our fans will have something to cheer about again.”

The Sky Blues take on Wellington Phoenix this Sunday 20th October at Leichhardt Oval (kick off 6pm AEDT). Get there to back your Sky Blues with tickets available online now, watch on Fox Sports 505 or follow @SydneyFC on Twitter for live updates from the clash.
