New Sydney FC venue excites Head Coach Ante Juric

Women’s Head Coach Ante Juric can’t wait to experience the atmosphere in a historic first Sydney FC home game at Sydney Olympic Park Athletic Centre this Sunday afternoon (4pm kick-off).

The Sky Blues will look to earn three points against the joint ladder leaders Melbourne City in what will be the club’s first-ever competitive fixture at the stadium.

Juric explained: “The ground is quite good. We had a big crowd in the first game [Round 1 vs WSW], and we just hope that those fans come along again, and there’s no reason why not.

Many fans turned out for the first match and Ante Juric wants them to come this Sunday too

“The field is central, so it’s fantastic for the fans because we lift when they are there.”

Juric added: “The fans change everything from the atmosphere in the change rooms to making you feel like a professional player.

“We’ve set records in the league that we want to continue, and we’ve got some big players and future Matildas within our squad.

“It’s going to be a huge game and to play one of the best teams in the country, it always goes down to the wire and be great quality.”

Currently, City are second on the ladder and undefeated this season, scoring the most goals out of any side.

However, the Sky Blues will be ready for the challenge and will attempt to recreate a performance similar to last weekend against Adelaide, where they were physical and ruthless in defence, dominated possession and created clear-cut chances.
