Economic times may be tough, but Sydney FC continues to prove its’ stocks are on the rise!
The global financial crisis may be hitting home across the country and around the World, but Sydney FC has defied the tough economic times with Pulsar Watches – a global brand owned by the Seiko Watch Corporation – signing a significant sponsorship agreement to become a partner, and Official Timekeeper with the Hyundai A-League club.
The sponsorship agreement covers the remainder of the current of the 2008/09 season and all of the 2009/10 season, with an option to extend into 2011, and is a vote of confidence not only in Sydney FC, but also in the future of football in Australia.
“This deal is a very positive step in the development of our club and we thank the Seiko Watch Corporation for their support and welcome them to the team,” said Sydney FC CEO, Stefan Kamasz. “We-ve been working hard to grow our brand and build our club and bringing Pulsar on board is a great endorsement that we-re heading in the right direction.”
Sydney-s Westfield W-League team and Hyundai A-League team will both be included in the deal, in recognition of Pulsar-s brand appeal across the sexes, with the watch company to become front-of-jersey sponsor for the Sky Blues women and right-sleeve sponsor for the men.
Both Sydney FC and Pulsar see the agreement as a three-way partnership involving the club, Pulsar and the fans, with Sky Blues- supporters to be given the opportunity to benefit from the agreement and win significant prizes during the term of the Sponsorship.
“From the earliest discussions with the Seiko Corporation they were insistent that involving our supporters had to be the key focus of the partnership. Obviously we-re delighted to be able to craft a partnership that offers such positive outcomes for everyone involved,” said Sydney-s Chief Commercial Officer, Ken Sharp.
As part of the new agreement Pulsar will include Sydney FC player imagery and branding in its marketing programs across 800 stores Australia wide, and Sydney and Olyroo midfielder, Stuart Musialik will feature heavily in its campaigns as a ‘Brand Ambassador- for the watch company.
Pulsar-s sponsorship of Sydney FC adds to the Seiko Watch Corporation-s extensive history of supporting sport, with the company enjoying strong links to the Olympic Games, Sailing, and other major sports around the world.
