New SFS To Be Renamed Allianz Stadium

Sydney FC’s new world-class stadium at Moore Park will be known as Allianz Stadium, with the global insurance company to be the inaugural naming rights partner at the soon-to-be-opened multi-use venue.

Allianz Stadium is now in the final stages of completion as it prepares to host the very best sport, entertainment and cultural events that Australia and the world has to offer.

Tourism and Sports Minister Stuart Ayres said Allianz Stadium will set a new benchmark in live stadium experiences.

“With state-of-the-art facilities, unrivalled viewing from the 42,500 undercover seats and the finest in-stadium food and beverage offering across the country, Australia’s best rectangular stadium is on track to open in time for the 2022 NRL Finals series,” Mr Ayres.

“We can’t wait to welcome the community back to Moore Park’s new $828 million stadium that’s been purpose built for the fans.

“There will be no better stadium experience and access to the world’s best sport, concerts and events than that on offer at Allianz Stadium in Sydney.”

Allianz Australia Managing Director Richard Feledy said Allianz Stadium at Moore Park continues the company’s affiliation with the world’s most iconic stadium precincts.

“Allianz has been supporting Australians for over 100 years, and 2022 marks the tenth anniversary of our initial commitment to the original Allianz Stadium. We’re very proud to be associated with this world-class venue which will offer an unmatched fan experience in one of the most iconic sporting precincts in the world,” Mr Feledy said.

“Allianz Stadium, here in the heart of Sydney, is the latest important addition to the Allianz global family of stadiums. Through our stadium partnerships, we are committed to bringing communities together to enjoy an array of sport, international concerts and important cultural events.”

Venues NSW and Allianz Stadium CEO Kerrie Mather added: “We’re so excited to continue our long-standing relationship with Allianz Australia as the naming rights partner of Sydney’s brand new, world-class venue in Moore Park – Allianz Stadium,” Mather said.

“The former Allianz Stadium site has hosted some of our state’s most famous events from a Socceroos clash with Diego Maradona’s Argentina, sold-out Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, Taylor Swift, Coldplay and U2 concerts, to historic Sydney FC, Wallabies, Matildas, Roosters, Waratahs, Rugby World 7s, State of Origin and US College Football encounters.

“We can’t wait to welcome crowds to the new Allianz Stadium to help create new life-long sporting, entertainment and cultural memories for the millions of fans expected to visit the new venue each year.”

The new Allianz Stadium, sited in the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground precinct, will continue to be the home ground of Sydney FC, the Sydney Roosters and NSW Waratahs mens and womens teams.

The venue will also host marquee national team fixtures across all codes and attract the biggest national and international performers, artists, acts and events, including the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Allianz Stadium has been designed to set a new standard for stadium sustainability. Approximately 87 percent of construction and demolition waste has been recycled while its lightweight roof structure uses 40 percent less steel than a typical venue of the same size. Fans can travel sustainably too, with electric vehicle charging points, bicycle parking, light rail and bus stops, and a two-kilometre pathway from Central Station.

Allianz Stadium in Sydney joins Allianz’s family of seven stadiums around the world, with partnerships also in Germany, America, Austria, Italy, Brazil and France.
