Sydney FC-s interim CEO Stefan Kamasz says an announcement on a new Sky Blues coach is “not that far away”.
The search for a new man at the helm began in February after it was announced double winning coach Vitezslav Lavicka was to leave the Sydney FC family at the end of the season.
Now with the off-season well underway Kamasz believes an announcement could be made in the next two weeks.
“We hope that in the next 7 to 10 days we will be in a position to tell the members and the fans where we are going with the coach.” he said at the launch of the inaugural Sydney FC Schools Cup at The Kings School in North Parramatta.
“There are some negotiations that are going on at the moment but obviously they are in confidence, so we-re not that far away in my opinion.
“We have been talking to a number of players with a view to signing them down the track but ultimately that depends on who the coach will be, so we-ve had to put some of those discussions on hold until the coach is signed but we-re not that far away in my view.”
Joseph-s College (Joeys) took out the Sydney FC Schools Cup, defeating Sydney Grammar 3-2 in the final.
