Narsingh looking forward to first Sydney Derby

Luciano Narsingh is excited at experiencing his first Sydney Derby match as the Dutch international gets set to make his Sydney FC debut.

Narsingh has played in the biggest rivalries in Dutch Football De Topper (Ajax v PSV) and De Klassieker (Ajax v Feyenoord) to name a few.

The Dutch international is excited to experience his first Sydney Derby and has been asking a friend who knows what it’s like to play in one.

“I’m good friends with Romeo Castelen who previously played with the Wanderers. He was a big part of why I decided to come out here. He told me a lot about Australia and the competition and how competitive it is and that Sydney FC is a great club. I’m happy to have joined the biggest club in the country with all due respect to other clubs.”

“I’m very excited about this game. I’ve heard a lot of stories about this fixture and I’m very happy to be a part of this fixture and I’m looking forward to getting my first minutes for the club.”

Sydney FC coach Steve Corica revealed earlier today that this weekend’s derby presents a good opportunity for Narsingh to get his first minutes for the club.

“He’s been here for a few weeks now and he’s done all the sessions with us. He’s looking fitter and we want to try and get him into the team as soon as possible and it’s exciting.”

Narsingh has been impressed with what he has seen so far from his teammates on the training field.

“There are a lot of good players here in the squad that we have here. I can’t single anyone out in particular but it’s been really good and I’m feeling a lot stronger this week from training.”

Away from the football field and Narsingh is enjoying his time in Sydney despite the recent weather.

“I think the people here are very friendly and you can have a nice conversation with a stranger who you might meet in the street.”

“I went to the zoo with my kids the other day and they saw a kangaroo which made my kids really happy to see one. You don’t see that sort of animal in Amsterdam.
