Sydney FC is two steps closer to compiling the team that will attempt to defend the National Youth League title this season, with the club announcing it has added two more players to its growing Youth team roster.
With six players already on the books, Tim McGowan from Marconi and Nenad Vekic from the Bonnyrigg White Eagles are the latest players to join the Sky Blue juniors.
“It-s just the first step I guess. I-m very excited, said Vekic, a 19-year old goalkeeper. “Sydney FC is a great club. It-s a big step for me and I-m really looking forward to it.”
McGowan, an attacking utility, is looking forward to following in the footsteps of players like Kofi Danning, Brendan Gan and Rhyan Grant.
“The boys that made the step up to the first-team this season are a great example,” said the 19-year old. “As a team I hope we can emulate the results of last season but personally, I just want to work hard and get the best out of myself and hopefully I can get my chance too.”
The latest two signings leave Sydney FC will eight places still to fill in its NYL playing roster, with the season set to kick-off in September.
