Sydney FC are enjoying renewed Membership success this pre-season, with the Sky Blues current 2016/17 figures up on last year’s figures at the same deadline.
The same seat renewal deadline is a significant day on the Membership calendar and often gives indications on how Memberships are travelling. This is showing an upward trend with 6,360 Members signed up by this year’s deadline (5th July 2016) compared with 5,524 Members at last season’s date (30th July 2015). That’s a 15 per cent increase.
It’s expected the loyalty discount deadline of Wednesday 3rd August 2016 will also see a peak in Membership renewals which will also give an indication on how this season’s sales are going.
Junior Memberships are also up so far during this campaign. Of our 6,942 currently registered Members, 16 per cent are juniors, which is a four per cent increase for the number of juniors signed up at the same point last year.
In addition, the Sky Blues have 26,000 Junior Blues Members pre-registered with the FFA which is a sharp increase on the 8,459 total from the 2015/16 season, however they aren’t counted in the official Membership figures.
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata said he was pleased with the increase in Membership numbers so far, with the Sky Blues first home game still three months away.
“It’s fantastic to see this level of support with nearly three months to go until our first home game against Central Coast Mariners,” Pignata said.
However he did urge caution with this season’s target of 15,000 Members still a long way off.
“I urge fans to get behind the club and sign up for the season. It’s also much better value for money for those fans attending the majority of the games,” Pignata said.
“There’s a raft of benefits to becoming a Sydney FC Member for the 2016/17 season, and with the additions to the squad from Graham Arnold we are hoping it’s going to be a great year to be Sky Blue.”
