They-re back!!!! Sydney FC-s mascots Syd and Sydnee are to make a stunning comeback to the club this “Super Saturday”, just in time for the top of the table W-League clash between the Sydney FC and Perth Glory, and the blockbuster Sydney Derby between the Sky Blues and Western Sydney Wanderers.
The pair have just returned from an extended vacation and arrived back in time to get a quick wash and attend a training session, before getting ready for Saturday-s big double header.
“It-s been a while since we-ve been to a game, so I-m really looking forward to it,” said Syd.
“I-m especially looking forward to meeting some of our new players and seeing all of our Members again.”
Sydnee echoed those sentiments: “I can-t wait for Saturday night,” she said.
“It-s going to be great seeing everyone again and saying ‘hello- to all of our new younger fans. We hope they are as excited to see us as we are to see them.”
Now that they are back, Syd and Sydnee have revealed to sydneyfc.com that they are planning to change their names, and are hoping fans can offer up some suggestions.
“We just fancied a change,” added Syd. “And we thought it-s a new start for us and for Sydney FC so why not get a new identity as well.
“We know how witty our fans can be so we hope they can come up with some good ideas!”
If you have a great idea for some new names for our mascots then send your entry to renamethemascots@sydneyfc.com by 5pm Friday 21 Dec, and the winning names will be revealed when Harbour take on Coast on 27 Dec @ 7:30pm!
