Mak and Slovakia take three points in Iceland

Robert Mak and Slovakia have taken three points from their Sunday morning (Australian time) clash with Iceland in their UEFA Euor 2024 Qualifying campaign.

Held in the volcanic country of Iceland, Sydney FC’s Player of the Year Mak was in the starting eleven for the match and played 57 minutes in Reykjavik.

After missing the Sky Blues’ last match of the season due to injury, this will be a welcome sight for Sydney FC fans as he completed 18/20 passes on the night and registered two shots on goal.

Mak also had a chance well saved by Alex Runarsson late in the first half and had 32 touches on the ball.

Three points in Reykjavik helps keep Slovakia in 2nd place behind Portugal with a meeting against Liechtenstein on Wednesday morning, to conclude his 2022/23 season.
