Women’s fixtures announced

We’re keeping the football vibe alive with the announcement of our Women’s Liberty A-League season – just days after the FIFA World Cup action came to end.

And there’s going to be more drama than ever before as the competition expands for its biggest ever season on record.

22 matches await the Sky Blues as they look to defend their Premiership and Championship from the 2022/23 season and we kick off with a Sydney Derby at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 14 October.

There are also six games at Leichhardt Oval and two matches at Sydney Olympic Park to enjoy.

Our Women will open the season with a sensational Sydney Derby at Allianz Stadium as Cortnee Vine makes her return to the A-Leagues.

We also take on one of the most successful sides in Liberty A-League Women’s history on Sunday 26th November, when we face Melbourne City, kicking off at 4pm.

We’ve got a home fixture in January at Leichhardt Oval against Newcastle Jets, which will take place before a trip to Melbourne Victory for our annual Australia Day game.

Sydney FC won 6-3 in Melbourne last year

March will be a busy month, highlighted with two brilliant fixtures. On Saturday 9th March we have the highly anticipated Grand Final re-match against Western United.

Later in March and in the final game of the 22 match season, Ante Juric’s side will go up against old rivals Melbourne Victory. This fixture is a Grand Final re-match from 2021 and 2022. In 2021 it was Matilda Kyra Cooney-Cross’ dramatic extra time corner that went in and sunk the hearts of the Sky Blues. Last season, these two rivals met in the Preliminary Final and a late Sydney goal proved the difference, winning 1-0.

The Grand Final re-match is on Saturday 9th of March

This season promises to be a brilliant season and we can’t wait to get started.
