Sydney FC star Adam Le Fondre said he’s looking to not only foster a new strike partnership but rekindle an old one as well as he linked up with the squad for his first training session on Monday.
The Englishman returned to the Sky Blues following his spell in India with Mumbai City, joining a familiar squad with Brazilian Bobô the only player with whom he’s yet to feature with.
Bobô and Le Fondre are the Sky Blues’ all-time leading strikers based on goals to game ratio, and the Englishman said he was looking forward to establishing a lethal strike force with the former Besiktas front man.
“Of course I want to build a good partnership with Bobby but also I had a fantastic partnership with Kosta too,” Le Fondre said.
“I’m just looking to contribute and help the team. My first day back was really good, it’s like I’ve never been away really and that’s all you can ask for.
“Literally nothing has changed [at the club] I would say,” he continued.
“I feel physically fit, I was working hard in England and in quarantine.”

Le Fondre could feature for the Sky Blues as early as Saturday, away against Western United, and while he’s eager to continue scoring it’s silverware that dominates his thoughts.
“To be fair there’s only Macarthur I haven’t scored against yet,” Le Fondre said.
“Hopefully I can just provide a boost for everyone and contribute goals for the threepeat.
“I’m more focused on the boys getting the right result and trying to push Melbourne City all the way.”
Adam Le Fondre is in contention to feature this Saturday, and the next time you can see him play at home could be Wednesday night’s massive Big Blue and our Sunday Sydney Derby at the SCG! Secure your seats now.
