New Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo has made a number of changes as he names his first extended squad in charge of Sydney FC, with several players coming into the side ahead of Thursday night’s clash with Brisbane Roar.
The Sky Blues Men travel to face Brisbane Roar on Thursday night aiming to secure a big three points to climb the Isuzu-UTE A-League ladder. Corey Hollman, Wataru Kamijo, Joel King and Zac De Jesus all return to the extended squad after being promoted, providing a welcome boost to depth with a couple of key absences.
Alex Grant misses out with a hamstring injury sustained during the recent Newcastle Jets clash, while Mathias MacAllister only arrives back from on international duty on Thursday morning. The clash represents an opportunity to build momentum and rise up the ladder heading into the final stages of the season.
Meanwhile, the Sydney FC Women head to face Central Coast Mariners on Saturday afternoon in their final match of the Ninja A-League campaign. With at least a draw required to avoid the wooden spoon Madeleine Caspers returns to the squad following a rib injury, offering a timely boost, while Caley Tallon-Henniker is unavailable due to a late Young Matildas call-up to their AFC U20 Asian Cup campaign.
A number of other players across both squads also remain unavailable through injury or other circumstances.
