Kisnorbo A Breath Of Fresh Air For Sydney FC Squad.

Sky Blues left-back Ben Garuccio believes Patrick Kisnorbo has brought a new sense of motivation and energy to the side following his appointment as Head Coach.

The defender played with Kisnorbo for Melbourne City during his first stint with the club
between 2012-16 and was later coached by him when he returned in 2020.

Garuccio praised the coach as a newfound source of inspiration for the squad.

Ben Garuccio looks on

“The standard this week in training has been the best it’s been in a while,” Garuccio said.

“It’s just the fresh environment the new coach creates.

“You’re always in a good place when you’re training at such a high standard. You then take
that into the games and it becomes normal.

“When you’re not playing, you feel like it’s never going to change and then a new coach
comes in and you feel, ‘Oh, now I’ve got a real crack.’

“All of a sudden two or three players lift the standard, and everyone else wants to lift the
standard.”

The left-back, who joined Sydney FC from Western United at the beginning of the season,
also commended Kisnorbo’s hard-work-based coaching style.

“He’s very straight down the line. You know what to expect. And as a player, it’s good,
because when you’re out of line, you’ll be told straight away.

“When you’re working under him, he makes it very clear that those are the bare minimum
standards.

“He’s come in because he believes that we can achieve what we all want to achieve, which
is finishing as high up the ladder as we possibly can, and then going all the way in finals.

“That’s the standard that he set from the get-go.”

Garuccio and the rest of the side now look to hit the ground running for the start of their
finals campaign as they prepare for their next match.

Quintal celebrates a goal against Brisbane Roar

“We’ve worked really, really hard and I think we’re in a good position going into Thursday,
against Brisbane.”

Sydney FC will travel to Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday ahead of this Thursday’s match
against Brisbane Roar, kick-off at 9pm.
