Ante Juric’s Sydney FC will travel to Brisbane on New Year’s Eve as they look to close out a highly successful year with yet another win.
It has been a brilliant year for the Sky Blues as they won another Premiers Plate and have continued their winning form into the 2022/23 Liberty A-League Women’s season.

Throughout 2022, Sydney FC have played in 16 matches and won 13 of them, scoring 37 and conceding just 10 goals. Their most recent win came at the hands of their rivals Western Sydney Wanderers with goals from Mackenzie Hawkesby and Cortnee Vine, which saw them run out 2-0 winners at Allianz Stadium.

In their last meeting with Brisbane Roar, Madison Haley ran riot with a first half brace, the second of which, a brilliantly taken goal in which she took on her defender and chipped the keeper. After missing last week with a niggle, she will be hoping to return to the side following the departure of Remy Siemsen to Europe.
After their 4-0 rout of Brisbane, the Sky Blues will be looking to head to the Sunshine State and claim all three points once more, continuing their run of clean sheets, with Jada Whyman yet to concede in the last 360 minutes of football, a league best, one goal conceded.

Since the last meeting between these two sides, Brisbane have dispatched Western Sydney Wanderers and Newcastle Jets without conceding a goal so the task ahead for Ante Juric will be tough.

Katrina Gorry found the net twice against the Jets at No. 2 Sportsground, building on Holly Palmer’s first half strike versus the Wanderers a week prior showing that the Queensland outfit have goals in their locker.
Garreth McPherson has his team playing a good brand of football which warrants their position just outside the top 4 and they have the ability to leap-frog Adelaide United, Western United and Juric’s Sydney FC with three points this Saturday.
Based on the last meeting, it will come down to the wire and action aplenty is expected at A.J. Kelly Park.
