Sydney FC W-League coach Ante Juric has the top two in his sights as the team climbed into second following the 2-0 win away to Perth Glory FC on Sunday.

The victory marked an seven game undefeated spell for the Sky Blues with Juric knowing the latest three points were hard to obtain.

“Perth are a tough team and are fighting for the top four so to get this win on the road to keep us second in the league is excellent,” he said.

“At the start I said to the team it was going to be a fight.  It wasn’t going to be pretty we had to work for it but they stuck to their guns and got the result.

“We’re dangerous going forward and should have wrapped it up in the first half with a number of chances. We’re still improving and with the finals around the corner, it’s going to click,” he continued.

“We’re definitely aiming for a top two finish. People wrote us off after the first three games but I told the girls we would get to the finals and would hit our straps in December.

“We’re confident in what we do and now we’re seven games unbeaten.”

The seven game unbeaten run has seen the side gain 19 of a possible 21 points, achieving maximum points on the road in three of these matches.

The Sky Blues will rest up with a bye before taking on arch-rival Melbourne Victory on Australia Day away at AAMI Park with a win against them consolidating second spot at the very least.
