Ins & Outs | Young Matildas absent and captain suspended

This weekend the Sydney FC squads for the Men’s and Women’s Sydney Derby will be different from recent weeks with many forced changes for Ufuk Talay and Ante Juric.

Men’s

After picking up his 5th yellow card of the season, Luke Brattan will be unavailable for the Sydney Derby and will serve a one game suspension returning for the clash with Brisbane Roar the following week.

Thankfully, Jack Rodwell is fit enough to earn a spot in the extended squad after suffering from a calf injury that has seen him sidelined since early January.

Joel King will also look to find his way back to the squad after overcoming his foot injury last week but being left out of the team.

Teigan Collister, Nat Tobin and Fiona Worts all remain injured so this provides a chance for the returning Lucy Johnson to be included in the matchday squad.

Two weeks ago at the abandoned Canberra clash, Shea Connors made her return from injury to make the bench and was joined there by new signing Caley Tallon-Henniker but neither saw action on the pitch with the contest halted after 35 minutes.
