Ins & Outs | Semi Final team news & Mak returns

Ufuk Talay and Ante Juric have confirmed their teams for this weekend’s huge clashes while the Women take on the Mariners in the Semi Final and Men head to Campbelltown to take on Macarthur.

Men’s

Ufuk Talay has named a very similar squad to last week’s Sydney Derby victory but will welcome back his Slovakian star Robert Mak who served his one week suspension against the Wanderers.

Unfortunately, Jordan Courtney-Perkins and Jake Girdwood-Reich are unavailable due to commitments with the Olyroos in Qatar at the AFC U23 Asian Cup which is still in the group stage of.

On a more positive note, Pat Wood is making his return from injury slowly and is beginning to do rehab on the grass. Gus Hoefsloot and Joe Lacey remain injured but are progressing well.

Matty Scarcella the holding midfielder is included in the extended squad for this Saturday’s clash after impressing with the Academy last Friday night.

Women’s

After what has felt like one of the longest breaks, Ante Juric’s side are back in action after a three week hiatus.

Thankfully for the Sky Blues over the international break, they did not lose any players to injury who were with the Matildas in America.

Kirsty Fenton and Nat Tobin remain long term injuries due to ACL and it is pleasing to note that Fenton had surgery last weekend which went well. Fiona Worts remains injured but is recovering at a good pace.

Sadly, Maddie Caspers is unlikely to feature for the remainder of this season after scans confirmed a stress fracture in her upper leg.

Teigan Collister, Sienna Saveska, Jynaya Dos Santos and Indiana Dos Santos are all included in the ins column for this crucial first leg in Gosford on Sunday.
