Ins & Outs | Girls return to league action

After nearly a month’s hiatus from league action, Sydney FC Women return to action this Sunday with a clash against Adelaide United ion the City of Churches.

Having just finished their stint in Uzbekistan for the AFC Women’s Club Championship where they finished second in Group B, Ante Juric’s side landed back in Australia on Tuesday and immediately set their sights on the task ahead.

After rest, Juric assessed the squad and has named a competitive 20 player side to visit the winless United who will be looking to take a large scalp of the reigning Champions and kick-start their season.

After an impressive AFC Women’s Club Championship campaign, Jessica Seaman has been signed on a short term contract and has been included for this weekend’s match.

After not making the journey to Uzbekistan due to injury, Sydney FC fans will welcome back Cortnee Vine and Sienna Saveska into the squad after they have spent their time rehabbing with a long season ahead.

Missing out against Brisbane Roar last time out in the league, Fiona Worts will be hoping to continue her goalscoring form against her former side. Having scored four goals in two games in the tournament, the Englishwoman will be looking to add to her league tally after she netted in the opening fixture of the season.
