Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque has taken out the Round 11 Hyundai A-League goal of the week, as voted by the fans.
The Sky Blues veteran netted the final goal of the match in his side’s come-from-behind 3-1 win over Melbourne City at Allianz Stadium on Friday night.
And it was some goal too, running onto Matt Simon’s flick-on before volleying the ball powerfully past Dean Bouzanis with his weaker right foot.
After scoring his first goal of the season the week before in the Sydney Derby rout, Brosque is hitting form for the league-leading Sky Blues.
His strike earned 40% of the fan vote to edge him just in front of teammate Adrian Mierzejewski.
The Polish international’s excellent free-kick to level the scores attracted 38% of the vote, while Adelaide United striker George Blackwood came in third with 22%.
