Coming in as a marquee the limelight is immediately drawn to you, however Sydney FC international marquee Filip Holosko has stated he wants the Sky Blues to be successful as a unit and not on the back of just himself this season.
The Slovakian international with Champions League and European Championship experience has set his sights on accruing a number of assists as well as goals in the 2015/16 season as he believes the Sky Blues are definitely in contention to take out the title.
“What is important for me is the team and I hope we are successful together,” Holosko said.
“I came to the most popular city in the world and the biggest club in Australia in Sydney FC. I am very happy to come here to the Harbour Club and I hope I am successful here for our fans, our supporters and our club and I hope I can prove my qualities to this team.
“I hope I do a good job and that I score a lot of goals, maybe I help from assists to. I want to win the A-League and also I want to go into the next round in the Asian Champions League.
“I think we have a big chance to win the A-League, I think we have the biggest coach in Australia. We have very good young boys for our team.”
Holosko said he’s hopeful of playing his first match for the Sky Blues next month as he said he sought advice from former Sky Blue Karol Kisel and former Sydney FC Head Coach Vitezslav Lavicka ahead of his move to Australia.
“I heard the passion from the club, they have big supporters,” he said.
“I have seen the videos of the club and our fans on YouTube. I have also heard everything from ex-player Karol Kisel and ex-coach Vitezslav Lavicka.
“I hope as soon as possible to play,” he continued.
“I spoke to the coach and he told me maybe in September when we play friendlies against other A-League teams.”
