Hollman loving high energy playing style

Corey Hollman has made a triumpant return from injury this season after missing the entirety of the 202/23 campaign.

Now, he has found his place in the heart of the midfield and he has been flourishing alongside Luke Brattan and while he may not get goals galore, he works very hard for the overall team.

Last weekend, Hollman played 90 minutes against Western United but will be the first to admit that he didn’t perform to his usual standards.

“We’ve been playing really well beforehand and last week’s performance was very disappointing for us.

“We didn’t have the usual desire to win the game, whether we didn’t turn up or play within ourselves, I don’t know, but we will be looking to turn that around this weekend and bring back our high energy game that we love playing,” Hollman said.

“We play a high risk high reward game and we create a lot of chances from our press sending numbers forward quite aggressively, but when we do that, there are times when they are going to get through and we have less numbers at the back.

“We just hope to reward ourselves more times and hopefully we create more chances from our press.”

Hollman will have a tough time in that midfield with his direct opponent on Saturday night predicted to be Josh Nisbet who is beginning to gain headlines across the league for his workrate and assist contribution despite being roughly 5 foot tall.

This battle could be a key one in the narrative of the match and who comes out on top could swing the contest in their sides’ favour.

“They [Mariners] are a quality side and they’ve been playing some quality football.

“We will work out how we can use their strengths and weaknesses and use it against them.

“We will have to be up for the battle to get the points from them,” he concluded.

Corey will be in action on Saturday night, with all the action live on Paramount+ & 10Bold.
