Sydney FC rising star Terry Antonis has put hard work down as the reason he has been elevated back into the first team squad.
The youngster is back in Frank Farina-s squad to face Newcastle on Saturday night having regained his momentum after a series of international call-ups and overseas trips took their toll.
“I-ve been working hard the last couple of weeks to get back in and got my confidence back so it-s good,” said the 19 year old, who won his first Socceroos caps in early December.
“It-s always an honour to represent your country, going away with Australian teams and playing for your city Sydney FC. I love doing it and that-s what means to be a pro footballer so I have to learn to cope with that.”
Antonis comes back into Farina-s plans at a crucial time for the Sky Blues with game at Hunter Stadium a proverbial “six-pointer” in terms of qualifying for finals positions.
However Terry feels refreshed and ready to go.
“I-ll go out there and give it all I-ve got for the coach, for the club and for the team, especially for the team, and try and get the three points.
“Everyone just wants to go out there and win, we want to make the semis and everyone-s getting ready for a fight this weekend.”
