Sydney FC midfielder Hagi Gligor is in contention for a place in the starting line up for Sunday-s game against the Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium (kick off 5pm).
Gligor, who returns from the Socceroo-s U-22 AFC Championship exploits in Oman where Australia reached the quarter finals, will most likely slot into a central midfield role as Farina looks to add more flexibility in that area.
“I think we-ve got to be pretty mobile in the middle of the park,” Farina said.
“So I think young Hagi [Gligor] might come back in but we-ll wait and see how the troops pull up after tomorrow.”
Sydney FC also have a new face amongst the squad in training with former Dinamo Zagreb, Suwon Bluewings and Australia U-23 international Eddy Bosnar linking up with the Sky Blues in an effort to keep up his fitness.
“Eddie is here training with us,” said Farina.
“There is a short turnaround next week with another flight to Melbourne on Friday so I haven-t got anything planned specifically for him.
“He-ll just join in with training and have some fun for the next week or so.”
Farina was also quick to dispel any rumours surrounding Alessandro Del Piero and a certain Thai club.
“I think the Thai club was an old rumour that has most probably been dragged up again,” Farina said.
“Alessandro-s focus is here. We-re in a situation where we are still very much in the fight and close to everything so his focus is very much on Sydney FC.
“I think a lot of it is fabricated as well. As I said the Thailand thing was something he said to me was ages ago so I don-t know who has dragged it up again but it is certainly not a distraction for us.”
