Each week we’re asking the important questions as we profile Sydney FC’s Team of the Decade and former players. Find out who their funniest team mate was, what their favourite away trip was, who they believe was the worst dancer at the club and more!
How did it feel to be named in Sydney FC’s Team of the Decade?
For me it was a great honour to be named in the Team of the Decade because of all the great players we’ve had at the club and to be a part of the squad with some of those players is something amazing.
Who is your all-time favourite player in your position?
It would definitely be [Andrea] Pirlo. He’s such a fantastic player, you can see how he knocks the ball around and his passing is pinpoint. For me he’s one of my favourite players to watch.
Funniest Sydney FC memory?
Sebastian Ryall. He fell over during training when Vitja [Vitezslav Lavicka] was the coach. He was trying to dribble past Vitja and he nearly tackled down Vitja doing it.
Funniest team mate?
It would probably have to be Sebastian Ryall. He’s the change room clown!
Best prank?
There’s heaps of them, there’s too many of them. One that I remember is when we cut the boys shoe laces at the bottom, so they go to tie their shoe laces and the whole lace comes undone, but there’s heaps more! It’s more than likely the younger boys playing the pranks in the team.
Worst dancer/singer at the club?
Has to be Sebba, Rhino [Rhyan Grant] and Alex Gersbach!
Worst media appearance?
All of them! [laughs]. To be honest it’s probably when we’re out and we see Wanderers fans and they boo us.
