He’s Sydney FC’s newest addition to the squad and is set to be kitted out as a Sky Blue on Monday when the players return for pre-season training, so we thought we’d get to know a little bit more about Paulo Retre.

Dean Bouzanis, Michael Zullo and my cousin Alex.

Biting my nails.

Latte no sugar.

Blue.
Can you cook – what’s your specialty:
I like to cook scrambled eggs with a bit of chilli.
Ideal holiday:
I’ve always wanted to go to the Greek Islands – Mykonos, but anywhere hot weather and has great beaches.

Biggest inspiration and why:
My dad Carlos for when I started in football and he took me everywhere to games and training. He really supported me.
I used to love Cristiano Ronaldo growing up for everything he has done for the game.
Describe your game day routine:
I like to get up a bit later and have a coffee before I go to the ground to relax my thoughts.
I will have breakfast in between that and listen to music on the way to the ground to get my mind focused. Once I’ve arrived at the ground I’m ready.
