“I remember sitting over there” as he points to the edges of The Cove. “I came with friends and family and it was always the best atmosphere regardless of the weather.
“I used to love coming to the big games. It always felt special and I can’t wait to experience it as a player.”
Yazbek was in the side that drew 2-2 with Victory in the Australia Day match at AAMI Park last season and recounts that it is one of the most memorable matches in his career.
“It’s such an exciting fixture and it shows that both teams really hate each other, so fingers crossed we can bring that energy onto the field and get the win against them,” Yazbek said.
“Hopefully we can get as many fans out as possible as it’s always good when they’re here and they come in such large numbers and it is not only good for us, but the league as well.”
To get in the best shape for Saturday’s big game, Yazbek and his team-mates have been through 14 weeks of pre-season training.
“I’m feeling good and I’ve been working on my physique, trying to get stronger so that I can add that to my game,” Yazbek said.

“Going into the season, we’ve got a couple of pre-season games so hopefully I can prove myself a bit more there and be ready to play on October 8 against Melbourne Victory.”
