Alyse Oppedisano, Claire Corbett, Willa Pearson and Rubi Sullivan have been named in the Junior Matilda’s Squad Domestic Training Camp ahead of the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup.
Being four out of the twenty-eight player squad that Head Coach Michael Cooper has called, our sky blues have a chance to be selected in the CommBank Junior Matilda’s starting squad for the upcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place in Morocco.

Oppedisano, Corbett and Pearson were selected in the 23-player squad that competed in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026, with Australia’s Junior Matilda’s earning fourth-place and qualifying for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup for the first time. Rubi Sullivan was competing with the Young Matildas at that time (U20s)
The tournament is expected to be an exciting opportunity and invaluable experience for our sky blues if they are picked for the starting squad, along with the rest of Australia’s next generation of up and coming stars.

Our very own green and gold will kick-off their campaign against Chile on Tuesday, 20 October, before facing two-time champions Spain on Friday, 23 October, and will finish the campaign by taking on Mexico, who earned the Bronze Medal last year, on Monday, 26 October.
