For the first time at the new Allianz Stadium, Sydney FC will walk onto the field this Sunday amidst a sea of national flags held aloft by 80 youth ambassadors for the Sky Blues’ partner Football United.
Since 2008 the Sky Blues and Football United have joined forces to celebrate diversity and the achievements of the Football United programs, and Sunday will be no different as the 80 Football United youth ambassadors march around the pitch in a flag parade, prior to kick off.
Football United creates chances for youth from disadvantaged communities through the magic of football, with programs aimed at engaging and inspiring young people on life skills, leadership, and acceptance.
Football United Founding Director Anne Bunde-Birouste is still excited by the partnership with Sydney FC which is now in its 13 year.
“Our partnership with Sydney FC is hugely important to us,” she said.
“We have true engagement from this wonderful club right from the Board, to the players, to the staff, the sponsors and our Sky Blue Members.
“This year Football United will be running Festival 23 alongside the World Cup, a week-long youth development seminar inviting in young people from around the world and Sydney FC will be involved,” she added.
