Five Sydney FC players were named in Qantas Socceroos Pim Verbeek-s 25-man squad for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifier against Indonesia, which will be played at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on Wednesday 3 March 2010.
Fresh off claiming the 2009/10 Hyundai A-League Premiers Plate last weekend, Sky Blues players Simon Colosimo, Alex Brosque, Clint Bolton, Shannon Cole and Stuart Musialik were rewarded with their strong play when Verbeek announced his squad on Wednesday 17 February.
Colosimo was part of the Socceroos most recent match, a 2-2 draw against Kuwait on Wednesday 6 January, a match Brosque would have started if it wasn-t for the groin injury he sustained the day before the match.
Sydney FC goalkeeper Clint Bolton makes his return to the Qantas Socceroos squad for the first time since 2006 while Cole and Musialik also return to the international fold.
The Qantas Socceroos are currently placed in second position of the Group B points table behind Kuwait on the number of goals scored and will need a draw or a win against Indonesia to qualify for the AFC Asian Cup 2011 which will be held in Qatar next January.
