Sydney Powerchair FC will compete in their first ever Sydney Derby this Saturday the 10th of May, at Kevin Betts Stadium, Mount Druitt (kick off 2pm).
Having drawn their first match of the competition against the Central Coast Mariners, the newly branded squad will be eager to register their first win against the Wanderers, in the Western Sydney First Division of the NSW Powerchair Football Association.
Sydney PFC will join the already successful Sky Blue Family encompassing the Hyundai A-League, Westfield W-League and Foxtel National Youth League teams.
Powerchair Football is played by players in electric wheelchairs. Necessary adjustments are made to enable the players to play but the fundamentals of the game and passion of the players is the same as in football.
Sydney-s players will wear the famed Sky Blues jersey and club polo.
Coach Luke Robinson said he was pleased to be representing Sydney FC and said that he-s already got his eyes set on attaining silverware as a Sky Blue.

“This is a huge step in the right direction for Australian Powerchair Football.
“The boys are really ready for the challenge to come and are extremely excited about representing Sydney FC.
“We really hope that all Sydney FC fans can embrace us as part of the FC family.”
Sydney FC Chief Executive Officer Tony Pignata said: “We are extremely pleased to be able to support and welcome our new Powerchair Football squad to the Sydney FC family.
