Sydney FC defender Matt Jurman says the Sky Blues were deserved winners in the Sydney Derby but stressed that the squad-s sole focus is on the crucial upcoming match against the Brisbane Roar at Allianz Stadium tonight (kick off 7:45pm).

Coming back from goal down the Sky Blues went on the win 3-1 with Jurman scoring his first ever Hyundai A-League goal and the makeshift left back said the squad can-t dwell on past results with the finals series fast approaching.

“All the boys are very happy after last week-s win,” Jurman said.

“It-s a huge win to win that derby. To win that game, coming from behind as well, it was a huge win but we need to forget about that now and worry about the rest of the games for the rest of the season.

“It was a big game, there was a lot of passion in the game especially coming from our side and the fans, we got the result in the end and I think we deserved it.

“But we definitely know we need to forget about that now though and worry about Friday.”

Having played with the Roar previously, Jurman is well aware of the threat the Queenslanders pose, however he is confident that Sky Blues can get a result with Sydney FC having scored exactly two goals in their previous three home matches against Brisbane.

“You can-t really pick one player out, they-ve got a great team,” said Jurman.

“You need to be careful with those players [Broich and Berisha] but they-ve also got a lot of dangerous other players you need to be careful of as well so you can-t really focus on one person you need to worry about the whole team.

“We-ll work on our game plan today at training and tomorrow and hopefully we can do a good performance on Friday night.”

SKY BLUES HOST TABLE TOPPERS – Be at Allianz Stadium to see Sydney FC silence the Roar in a Friday night blockbuster. Two of the league-s most prominent scorers, Alessandro Del Piero and Besart Berisha, will face off, while Sasa Ognenovski comes up against the club that started his Hyundai A-League journey.
