Sydney FC youngster Olivia Price says the Sky Blues are brimming with confidence after their dominant 5-0 victory over Adelaide United on Friday night.
Price scored her maiden Westfield W-League goal in the process, and the Young Sky Blue fresh from Young Matildas duty in Vietnam, said the goal is one of her most cherished footballing moments to date.
“I thought it was an important win for us [on Friday],” she said.
“It’s helped build up confidence as a team to make it into the semis. I would say it was one of our best performances this season so far.
“Hopefully we can keep it up in the next few last games,” she continued.
“I was in shock at first, but it was very exciting [to score my first goal]. It was a special moment and it means a lot to me.”
After breaking into the Sydney FC team this season after being a injury replacement during the Westfield W-League 2013/14 season, Price has set her sights on getting on the park as much as possible.
“Personally I want to continue getting on the field and keep playing my best for myself and for the team,” Price said.
“I’m very confident in the team’s ability and we took a lot of confidence out on Friday night’s game.
“Our main goal now is to get into the semi finals, but we’re taking it as one game at a time, we are still training and preparing during the week as if we have a normal game.”
The Sky Blue Ladies have this week off before they face the Westfield W-League 2014 Premiers Perth Glory at WIN Stadium in Wollongong (kick off 3pm). Follow @SydneyFC for LIVE match updates.
