Sydney FC duo Nick Carle and Karol Kisel will make a timely return from injury and suspension when the Sky Blues take on the Central Coast Mariners at the Sydney Football Stadium on Sunday.

The experienced pair returns in time for what is a season-defining clash with the high-flying Mariners after Sydney FC suffered back-to-back losses to Melbourne Heart and Wellington Phoenix over the Christmas/New Year period.

“The hammy’s fine, I’m feeling good after putting in a few hard weeks training to get myself back on the park, so can’t wait for the weekend,” said Carle who has recovered from a hamstring strain suffered in the game at Newcastle before Christmas.

The midfielder acknowledges the performances this weekend’s opponents the Mariners have been putting in but is confident Sydney can do the business.

“You can’t shy away from the fact that they’re playing great football at the minute and they’re top of the league because they deserve to be, so you’ve got to give them full credit.

“But if we look at ourselves and concentrate on what we need to do right and we play the way we know we can, then i think we’re a good chance.”
