Captain’s Column: We’re Going To Light Up Leichhardt

Friday’s result was a disappointing one and it’s one we’re certainly going to make right this Sunday when we face the Mariners at Leichhardt Oval.

It’s a change of scenery for the club as we move on with the next phase of our journey around Sydney, taking our games to the Inner West and an historic, iconic ground that we’ve enjoyed plenty of success at in the past.

The pitch at Leichhardt Oval is always fantastic, the atmosphere that will be generated I know will be great and I’m really excited for Sunday’s game.

We’ve enjoyed two wins over the Mariners this season, plenty of goals and plenty of celebrations, and long may that continue on Sunday.

After last week’s result training has been very intense. There’s been a good, fiery reaction from the boys as they make sure what happened on Friday night doesn’t happen again.

It’s a big weekend for the club with the Westfield W-League team hosting the 2019 Grand Final at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.

They’ve shown their qualities this season, they know how to win and I’m expecting big things from our W-League side at Kogarah on Saturday.

I’d like to wish Head Coach Ante Juric and the entire squad all the best. Bring that silverware home and make us proud!

February has gone quick, that’s for sure! I’d like to wish all the couples a very happy Valentine’s Day for Thursday. The Sky Blue Family is a large one and I hope you’ll continue to spread the love at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday in what will be a great family afternoon out.

There’s no rest though for us, March is just around the corner and with that comes the AFC Champions League.

We’re all really excited for the Group Stage coming up and we can’t wait for our Tuesday and Wednesday night clashes at Kogarah.

We want to see as many of you there as possible backing us against the best in Asia. The club’s AFC Champions League Memberships are on sale now, so secure your seats today.
