Three goals, a clean sheet and a Derby win, that’s the perfect way to start the season.
I couldn’t be more pleased with how our 2020/21 campaign has kicked off, everything went to plan against the Wanderers and I was impressed with our play from the get go.
Princess Ibini was on fire and it was awesome to see all our young stars step up and really look comfortable out on the pitch in Sky Blue.
It’s going to be another interesting task this Friday afternoon when we face the Newcastle Jets.
They didn’t get off to the best of starts against the Wanderers but they’re always a side that can catch you out, they’ve got some fantastic players and we’re going to have to be on our game to return home with the three points.
McDonald Jones Stadium is a great venue to play out, we’ve had some really tough clashes there in the past and I’m excited to see what we can produce up north.
Off the pitch everything is going great too.
Being a teacher I’m certainly enjoying the school holidays and a slightly less hectic schedule. There’s still the occasional early start for training, but otherwise I’m certainly making the most of my time away from the class room.
Recently I’ve been enjoying spending some quality time with loved ones which also includes my fur babies (dogs). I’ve also got a day trip up or down the coast in the plans when I can find time between training and games.
My Dad’s garden is really thriving this year too, so I’d love to learn some new recipes using some of his amazing produce!
That’s enough from me for this week. I hope everyone is looking forward to a safe and happy 2021 and I’ll see you all at a game real soon!
