It’s matchday -1 and we’re all very excited for football to be back tomorrow night against Wellington Phoenix.

There’s no nerves, it’s business as usual for us and we all know our jobs for the game tomorrow night and we’re all very much looking forward to being back at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, we’ve got a tremendous record there and we’re confident of continuing that.

The boys love playing there and the fact we’ll have a crowd in attendance is an added bonus – it’s great to be able to have our Members back.

Today’s training was good, matchday -1 sessions are usually pretty light. The first part of the session is usually just sharpening up and making sure everyone is on their toes with a few ball drills. The second part of the session is all game plans and how we’re going to tackle the team we’re playing.

Everyone was great today and we’re all looking fit and firing, and ready to go!

On our opponents, Wellington have had a great year. Uffie [Head Coach Ufuk Talay] has them playing a really good brand of football. I’m happy for them that they’re having such a great year and it’ll be a good challenge for us tomorrow night.

Both our previous games against Wellington have been hard fought battles and we’ll be giving our all to get one step closer to that Premiers Plate.

Getting a record-breaking fourth Premiers Plate has been on our minds for the last three or four months, we were very close before the season’s postponement, but we couldn’t get it over the line then so go out there now and make it a reality is very exciting.

We’ve worked very hard to get ourselves into the position we’re in now, and to go one step closer tomorrow night will be fantastic.

Bring on tomorrow night!
