Sydney FC’s Josh Brillante and Remy Siemsen have been named as the November nominees for the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Awards.
The namings come off the back of Brandon O’Neill’s October nomination, making it a clean sweep of a for the Sky Blues in the opening months of the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League seasons.
The nomination is Brillante’s second nomination for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award having been nominated in February 2014 when he was with the Newcastle Jets.
Brillante has had an outstanding Hyundai A-League 2016/17 season so far starting in all nine matches and scoring a brilliant goal against Brisbane Roar FC in Round 7.
The 23 year old is the second Sydney FC player to be nominated for the Hyundai A-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Award following his teammate and flatmate Brandon O’Neill being announced as the nominee for October.
“It’s an honour to be considered and was also great to see my team mate Brandon nominated last month,” said Brillante.
“I think these nominations arise off the back of all round team performances so all of our players definitely need to be acknowledged.
“Also congratulations to Remy on her award from the Sydney FC women’s team.”
Siemsen has had an outstanding start to her Westfield W-League career scoring twice from four appearances and assisting by winning a crucial penalty against Newcastle Jets last Sunday.
“I’m so humbled and grateful for the nomination,” said Siemsen.
“It’s a dream come true to play in the Westfield W-League with such a quality team and I hope to learn a lot this season and grow as a player.”
Siemsen is the first player to be nominated for the Westfield W-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Award.
The Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 will be announced at the Dolan Warren Awards Night.

NAB has generously donated a $1,500 NAB Club Recognition Award to Josh and Remy’s nominated junior clubs, which includes a range of equipment along with a financial reward.
The overall winners of the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League, NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 Awards will receive a $10,000 personal investment portfolio, along with a NAB Private Client Manager to assist with a range of banking and financial services.

Each month representatives from the FFA Technical department vote on a 3-2-1 basis for the most outstanding U-23 players in the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League during that period.
